Family Law Council

Part of the Attorney-General portfolio and a Federal authority, also called FLC

A statutory authority established by section 115 of the Family Law Act 1975. Advises and makes recommendations to the attorney_general concerning the working of the Family Law Act and other legislation relating to family law, the working of legal aid in relation to family law, and any other matters relating to family law. Advice and recommendations to the attorney_general may be either at Council's own instigation or in response to a referral by the attorney_general.
