Manufacturing Leaders Group

Part of the Industry and Science portfolio and a Federal authority

The Manufacturing Leaders Group is part of a strategic mechanism for the Government to consult with leaders in business, unions and the research sector. The Government accepted the recommendation to establish a Manufacturing Leaders Group by the non-government members of the Prime Minister’s Taskforce on Manufacturing in their 2012 report to the Government entitled Smarter Manufacturing for a Smarter Australia. The Leaders Group will continue the important dialogue established by the Prime Minister’s Manufacturing Taskforce. It also has an important role in assisting the Government in implementing its response to the Taskforce’s recommendations.
