Public Lending Right Committee

Part of the Attorney-General portfolio and a Federal authority, also called PLRC

The Public Lending Right (PLR) Committee represents Australian authors, publishers and libraries. It is appointed by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts. It has responsibility under the PLR Act for determining the eligibility of claimants, the amount of payment to a claimant, approving payments under the scheme, and providing recommendations and advice to the Minister about the operation of the scheme and the Act.
