Dear Mr Bradley
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST
I refer to your email of 29 May 2022 addressed to CSIRO’s FOI team containing your request
pursuant to the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (FOI Act) for access to:
“
the document(s) identified as: DR 07920, On-site domestic wastewater management.”
Thank you for also providing the additional background information to assist us in identifying the
above-mentioned document.
Acknowledgement
CSIRO received your request on
29 May 2022 and the 30-day statutory period for processing your
request commenced from the day after that date. This means that the current decision due date is
28 June 2022. The period of 30 days may be extended in certain circumstances, including if we need
to consult third parties pursuant to sections 27 and 27A of the FOI Act. CSIRO will advise you if any
extension is required.
Charges
Charges may be imposed for processing your request pursuant to section 29 of the FOI Act. These
charges are calculated by reference to the time spent processing a request, including time spent
searching and retrieving relevant documents, preparing any documents for release, consulting and
decision- making. In the event CSIRO decides that you are liable to pay a charge for the processing
of your request, you wil be notified of a preliminary charges assessment and you will have the
opportunity to contend that the charge should not be imposed or should be reduced.
Exclusion of personal or contact information
CSIRO is keen to provide its employees with a choice about whether they provide their full name
and direct contact details in response to public enquiries. Where such details are included in the
scope of a request, this may add to processing time and applicable charges as it may be necessary
CSIRO
Australia’s National Science Agency
to consider whether the details are exempt under the FOI Act. In the event that the document you
have requested contains CSIRO employee names or contact details, please let us know whether you
would be prepared to exclude this information from the scope of your request. If you agree to
exclude such details, we will redact the irrelevant information from any document that is released
to you, in accordance with section 22 of the FOI Act.
Please note that information released under the FOI Act may later be published online on CSIRO’s
disclosure log subject to certain exceptions, in accordance with section 11C of the FOI Act. Personal
and business or financial information wil not be published where this would be unreasonable.
CSIRO wil contact you using the email address you provided. Please advise if you would prefer us
to use an alternative means of contact.
Yours sincerely,
K Robinson
