Annual cost of fuel for the police airwing hours flown and coordination between different government airwings

The request was partially successful.

Dear Victoria Police

Annual cost of fuel for the police airwing, hours flown, and coordination between different government airwings: I would like to know the annual cost of fuel for the Victorian Police airwing, Hours flown over Melbourne and the total wages being paid to the police Airwing crew and support staff and management. I would also like to know to what extent is there cross coordination between the different government airwings such as police, air ambulance, Fire and Rescue, and paramilitary services. During the times flown by the police airwing are they expected to have their transponders on at all times so that their activity, use or mis-use can be recorded. It seems that not all air police aircraft activity is recorded on services like WebTrak. Is there some way that the movement of police choppers and light planes are being monitored and recorded for historical/ legal purposes. II believe the police airwing services are being misused and that Victorian taxpayers are having their money being wasted.

Yours faithfully,
Alan Baxter I
