Section 25.1.3 - Reporting Action
25.1.3.1 - If there is a need to temporarily reduce the category of the ARFFS provision due to an unforeseen circumstance affecting impending aircraft movements, all affected parties shall be notified immediately by NOTAM.

Please provide the total amount of NOTAM actions, for ARFFS not operating at the required Category, for ARFFS Sydney, ARFFS Melbourne, ARFFS Brisbane and ARFFS Perth.

Airservices Australia (Airservices) acknowledge the receipt of your
request for access to documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982
(Cth) (FOI Act). 

 

You requested documents are as follows:

“The total amount of NOTAM actions, for ARFFS not operating at the
required Category for ARFFS Sydney, ARFFS Melbourne, ARFFS Brisbane and
ARFFS Perth for the financial years:

2015-16; 2016-17; 2017-18; 2018-19; 2019-20; 2020-21, 2021-22”

I note your request also requests notifications ‘year to date’.  However,
the scope of FOI requests ‘crystallise’ on the date they are made. 
Accordingly I will proceed on the basis that for for FY22, the date range
is 1 July 2021 – 29 May 2022.

Processing period and third party consultation

 

Your FOI request was received on 29 May 2022. 

 

The statutory period for processing your request is 30 calendar days
commencing from the day after the day the request was received.

 

However, if your request captures documents that contains information
concerning the business, commercial or financial affairs of another
organisation or individual (third party), Airservices is required to
consult with these third parties concerned before making a decision on the
release of those documents: see section 27 of the FOI Act.

 

If consultation is undertaken with third parties, the initial 30-day
period for processing your request will be extended by a further 30 days
(see section 15(6) of the FOI Act). 

 

Delays

 

Please note that Airservices is currently experiencing delays with the
processing of FoI applications.  While we will endeavour to process your
application with the statutory time frame, there may be a small delay in
the processing time.  We will let you know if this is the case.

 

Charges

 

Airservices may impose a charge for the work involved  in providing access
to the documents you requested. We will be notify you of any charges in
relation to your request as soon as possible, before we process any
requested documents.
