Dear Bankstown City Council,
I am writing to retrieve all documentation relating to an incident that occurred on the 7th of September, 2026. The incident involved three roaming dogs who attacked another dog.
The case number related to this is as follows: 1322060
If you could please provide all details of the attack, investigations conducted by Council and actions undertaken by Council in relation to this case, that would be much appreciated.

Good morning
Thank you for your below email dated 2 February 2026. Your message has now
reached Council’s Governance Team, who look after Access to Information
applications.
Please note that the original email dated 23 December 2025 was not
received by the Governance Team. Only the follow‑up email sent on 2
February was received. The earlier email was directed to Council’s
Regulatory Services team instead (copy attached).
To apply for information relating to dog attacks, a [1]Formal GIPA
application is required. This is the correct process for requesting this
type of information.
If you choose to submit a Formal GIPA application, please be aware of the
following:
• A $30 application fee applies.
• The fee covers the first hour of processing.
• Any additional processing time is charged at $30 per hour (pro rata).
• After lodgment, a formal acknowledgement letter will be issued
outlining the next steps.
• Lodging a Formal GIPA application does not guarantee automatice
release of information. Consultation with third parties may be
required to protect their personal or sensitive information.
• After consultation, the public interest test is applied to determine
what information can be released.
• Applications are assessed in accordance with the Government
Information (Public Access) Act 2009 and the Privacy and Personal
Information Protection Act 1998, which prevent the release of personal
information.
