This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning did not have the information requested.

Dear Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning - Victoria,
I would like a copy of the Survey done to determine the Category 1 GGF Habitat as per Targeted Survey 2009-2011

The site I am asking for the information is as per Rockbank Area Wetland Survey Version 5.0 14/05/2013 Authors D. Cook, K. Just, and K. Jolly
Site 7 - Lignum Wetland north of Beatty’s Road, Rockbank (K3)
Several hundred Growling Grass Frogs (Litoria raniformis) were recorded breeding in this wetland after it was filled in 2010, and it was described as highly important for this species. The wetland was also considered important for Latham’s Snipe and potentially other shorebirds.

Example of what I am after is the detailed GGF study done below.
- Targeted survey during GGF active period (Nov – Feb) by experienced zoologists.
- Nocturnal surveys required.
- Night survey of spotlighting surveys, call identification, and active searching for adults and metamorphs.
- Call playback at survey locations spaced at least 500 metres apart and quiet listening for at least 10 minutes at these and other survey points.

(The property details of the GGF report is 1192 & 1232 Beattys Road Rockbank 3335)

Yours faithfully, Tom Pandza

Dear Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning,

Thank you for the documents sent to me but the document I received from your office is the Final report (Growling Grass frog Habitat Assessment & targeted Surveys across Melbourne’s Extended Urban growth & Precinct Structure Plan Area’s, Victoria November 2011

This is an overall report which any public person can access through the government website (which I have already sourced previously.)

This document shows on Figure 2a Melbourne West Growling Grass Frog Habitat Assessment & targeted Surveys (2009-2011) a green dot “frogs present” on my property 1192 Beattys Road Rockbank.

I am not after the copy of the broad report.

I am after the specific report the Scientist / Zoologist had to have done to gather the evidence to determine the presence of the GGF on my property 1192 Beattys Road Rockbank.

I am after, as per below or any other formal detailed report to gather the evidence on my site. (Not the broad report)

There should be a detailed GGF study done on my site in order for such decisions to be made. I’ve provided an example of the type of methods required as prescribed by DSE/Commonwealth (excerpt below):

- Targeted survey during GGF active period (Nov – Feb) by experienced zoologists.
- Nocturnal surveys required.
- Night survey of spotlighting surveys, call identification, and active searching for adults and metamorphs.
- Call playback at survey locations spaced at least 500 metres apart and quiet listening for at least 10 minutes at these and other survey points.

Yours faithfully,

Tom Pandza
