FOI Delegations

Ben Fairless made this Freedom of Information request to Minister Assisting the Prime Minister on the Centenary of ANZAC as part of a batch sent to 166 authorities

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

This request has been withdrawn by the person who made it. There may be an explanation in the correspondence below.

Dear Minister Assisting the Prime Minister on the Centenary of ANZAC,

Under section 23 of the Freedom of Information Act, the principal officer or minister can make arrangements to give their decision making powers to others.

I'm hoping you can provide me with a copy of the current arrangements if possible.

If it helps, I'm happy for you to process this request under "administrative release" (https://www.oaic.gov.au/freedom-of-infor...). This would reduce the cost and time required to make a formal decision.

That said, I understand sometimes you want the request to be formal. If you won't process it informally, please process my request for the document as a formal FOI Request.

Please note - While I volunteer for Right to Know, this request is made in a personal capacity and not on behalf of Right to Know.

Yours faithfully,

Ben Fairless

FOI, Minister Assisting the Prime Minister on the Centenary of ANZAC

Dear Mr Fairless

I am writing in relation to your request received on 14 November 2018 to
the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (the Department) under
the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act).

Notification of transfer of FOI request

The FOI Act provides a mechanism to transfer requests to another agency
where the subject-matter of the request is more closely connected with the
functions of that agency. This ensures that a decision on the request is
made by the most appropriate agency. As the subject-matter of your request
is more closely connected with the functions of the Department of Veteran
Affairs (DVA), the Department has sought to transfer your request to DVA
to deal with the request.

DVA has accepted transfer of your request, in accordance with section
16(1)(b) of the FOI Act. I expect that DVA will contact you soon in
relation to your request.

If you have any queries, I can be contacted by telephone on (02) 6271 5849
or by email at [email address].

Regards
