Dear Queensland Health,

Earlier this week, several news outlets (e.g. 7News) reported that Queensland Health confirms organ transplant recipients need to be vaccinated for Covid.

I would kindly ask for the release of the health advice that led to the decision to discriminate against people in need of an organ transplant, given their Covid vaccination status.

As a registered organ donor and in line with Christian values, I want to help those most in need, irrespective of who they are. I appreciate the work you are doing for Queenslanders and thank you in advance for your response.

Yours faithfully,

Oliver Leupold

RTI-Privacy, Queensland Health

Good morning Mr Leupold,

Thank you for your enquiry via the Right to Know portal. Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in acknowledging your email.

If you are seeking access to information under the Right to Information Act 2009 (the RTI Act), you must make an application directly to the Agency, and it must also satisfy the following requirements:

• Be on the approved form.
• Be accompanied by the application fee.
• Give sufficient information concerning the document to enable an officer of the agency to identify it.
• State whether or not the applicant is accessing the documents to benefit another entity (the beneficiary) and, if they are, identify the beneficiary.
• Include evidence of ID, and if the applicant has an agent, include evidence of the agent's ID and evidence of authority3, only if the application is for the applicant's personal information.
• State an address to which notices can be sent

The best way to submit an application under the RTI Act is via the Queensland Government online portal, at www.rti.qld.gov.au. This method will allow you to pay the mandatory application fee via credit card when you submit the application.

If you are seeking information outside of formal RTI legislation, you may make contact with Queensland Health at the following link: https://www.qld.gov.au/contact-us. However, you may be directed to submit a formal RTI application.

I hope this information is of assistance.

Kind regards,
