Dear Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority,

I am seeking the following documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982.

1. Any correspondence or documentation between ASADA (including but not limited to Ben McDevitt) and the Cronulla Sharks, including their trainer Trent Elkin and supplier Darren Hibbert in relation to the illegal supplements administration.

2. Any documentation or communication between ASADA and ABC journalists (including but not limited to David Mark) regarding illegal substances in the NRL.

3. Any correspondence and documentation between ASADA and the NRL regarding the investigation of the Cronulla Sharks illegal substances, and the treatment of Stephen Dank.

I refer to your email dated Friday 20 February 2015 in which you sought
access under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (‘FOI Act’) to:

“1. Any correspondence or documentation between ASADA (including but not
limited to Ben McDevitt) and the Cronulla Sharks, including their trainer
Trent Elkin and supplier Darren Hibbert in relation to the illegal
supplements administration.

2. Any documentation or communication between ASADA and ABC journalists
(including but not limited to David Mark) regarding illegal substances in
the NRL.

3. Any correspondence and documentation between ASADA and the NRL
regarding the investigation of the Cronulla Sharks illegal substances, and
the treatment of Stephen Dank.”

 

A valid Freedom of Information Request (‘FOI Request’) was received on
Friday 20 February 2015. The processing period for your FOI Request will
commence from that date.

 

We will email you shortly advising whether charges will be imposed and
provide you with a preliminary assessment of the charges for processing
your request. If the estimated charges exceed $100, a deposit of 25% will
be sought. For estimated charges less than $100, a deposit of $20 will be
sought. You should note that work will not commence on your application
until the deposit has been paid.

 

When the matter is finalised a decision letter and final account will be
sent to you. This final account will be based on actual time spent on
search and retrieval, vetting and decision making in relation to your
request and is payable whether or not any documents are released.

 

Should we need to consult as part of responding to your FOI Request we
propose to disclose this request and your name to those parties.
