I would like to make the following FOI request's

1. Current list of all staff in the prime minister's office including specific titles and roles e.g not just adviser. i.e media assistant,economic advance staff, executive assistant etc. If you plan to withold names then just the position titles.

2.Organisational chart of the prime minister's office.

Freedom of Information Request – FOI 17/96

Thank you for your email to the Department of Finance (Finance) requesting
access to the following under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI
Act).

 

1. Current list of all staff in the prime minister's office including
specific titles and roles e.g not just adviser. i.e media assistant,
economic advance staff, executive assistant etc. If you plan to withhold
names then just the position titles.

2. Organisational chart of the prime minister's office.

 

The statutory period for processing your request commences from the day
after Finance received your request. Your request was received by Finance
on 11 July 2017. The processing period may be extended if we need to
consult third parties, impose a charge or for other reasons. We will
advise you if this happens.

 

Publicly available information

Finance understand that you have previously made a similar FOI request
(our reference [1]FOI 15/129) where Finance released a redacted document
listing staff employed in the requested office, by classification.

 

Documents within scope of your FOI request are already publicly available
through the ‘Personal Positions’ document tabled at Senate Estimates and
accessible here -

This document contains the same information provided to you in your
previous request FOI 15/129 (noting it uses a different layout)

 

In relation to item 1 of your request, Finance does not hold further
information regarding specific titles and roles, other than the
classifications listed in publicly available ‘Personal Positions’
document.

 

In relation to item 2 of your request, Finance does not old any documents
relating to, or representing an organisational chart of the Prime
Minister’s office.

 

Way forward

On that basis, given the information is publicly available, please confirm
that you are happy to withdraw your request. Alternatively, we will
proceed to make a formal FOI decision within the statutory timeframes. It
would be greatly appreciated if you could respond by COB Friday, 28 July
2017.

Dear FOI Requests,
My request for that information was in january 2016 it is now july 2017 so over 1 year ago in which times there are changes and staff turnovers. My request was for the list of staff and this document you link too does not name them or the current number of staff at july 2017. So if you intend to refuse information listing public servants working for a government body I would like an official response to why you are witholding that information which i may appeal.

Could you please clarify the scope of your FOI request. I note that your initial email to Finance states 'If you plan to withhold names then just the position titles'. Please confirm if you are requesting staff names to be included in the scope of this FOI request? Subject to your response, we can prepare an estimate of charges on the clarified scope.
