Dear Department of Home Affairs,
Under Freedom of Information and in light of the Department's Procedural Instruction regarding Protection Claims at the Border, I request the following information:
1. The number of travellers who have been referred to a Visa Determination Officer (VDO) after seeking to engage Australia's protection obligations in immigration clearance at airports since 2008, broken down by fiscal year.
2. The number of travellers who have been referred to a VDO after seeking to engage Australia's protection obligations in immigration clearance at airports since 2008, broken down by fiscal year, and who have had their visa cancelled under section 166 of the Migration Act.
3. The number of travellers 'screened in' and 'screened out' after making a claim for protection in immigration clearance at an airport and undergoing a pre-screening interview (see section 4.7 Second Interview, Procedural Instruction - Protection Claims at Border) since 2008, broken down by fiscal year.
Please include the individual's country of origin and airport where the claim was made.

Updating your details once a visa has been granted, including minor
corrections to date of birth and name
The Department has an administrative process for minor corrections to date
of birth or name due to client error (such an a typographical error in an
online application) where the visa application has already been finalised.
You can update your details online if your application is available in
ImmiAccount. Go to the Department’s website here.
Alternatively, you can complete a form 929, which can be found here.
The completed form and attachments should be sent by email to

Request for a copy of your Visa Refusal or Visa Grant letter
If you have lost or misplaced correspondence regarding your Visa Refusal
or Visa Grant, or you wish to confirm the authenticity of your Visa
Refusal or Visa Grant, you should contact the office where you lodged your

Queries regarding your current Visa status
You can check your visa details and conditions on the Department’s Visa
Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) portal. If you do not have the
necessary reference numbers to access the VEVO portal, you should contact
the office where you lodged your visa application for further information.
Refund of Visa fees
If you are seeking a refund of fees associated with your Visa, you should

Notification of Change in Circumstances
If you have lodged a visa application and your circumstances have changed,
you should submit Form 1022 to the office where you lodged your visa
