On 18 July 2025, the Australian National University (the University)
received your request for access to documents under the Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act).

The University has taken your request to be as follows:

REQUEST FOR DOCUMENTS

Under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth), I request access to the
following documents:

ALL "REQUEST FOR EXEMPTION FROM TENDER/QUOTE PROCESS" FORMS

All "Request for Exemption from Tender/Quote Process" endorsed and/or
approved in 2025, including:

-All forms with reference numbers ANU25-001 through ANU25-050 (or the
highest -number issued in 2025) -All draft and final versions of these
forms -All pages and attachments to these forms -All associated approval
signatures and endorsements on these forms -All supporting exemption
justification documentation attached to or submitted with these forms

Date Range: January 1, 2025 to current date Specific Reference Numbers: I
specifically request all exemption forms numbered ANU25-001, ANU25-002,
ANU25-003, ANU25-004, ANU25-005, ANU25-006, ANU25-007, ANU25-008,
ANU25-009, ANU25-010, and all subsequent numbers issued during 2025.

SCOPE AND CONSULTATION

If the material responsive to this request is too voluminous for practical
processing, I am willing to discuss reasonable limitations to the scope.
Please contact me to discuss options before imposing any significant
restrictions.

PROCESSING REQUIREMENTS

Document Schedule: Please provide a schedule of all exemption forms
identified, including those exempted from release.

Partial Release: If any documents contain exempt material, please provide
non-exempt portions with redactions clearly marked.

Your request has been assigned the case number 202500155.

Processing Timeframe

The statutory time frame for processing your request is 30 calendar days
from day after the date your request was received by the University. You
should therefore expect a decision from us by 17 August 2025.

This period of 30 days may be extended if we need to consult third
parties, impose a charge or for other reasons. We will advise you in
writing if this happens.

We will contact you using the email address you provided. Please advise if
you would prefer us to use an alternative means of contact. If you have
any questions regarding your request, please feel free to contact the FOI

is currently at very high levels due the unprecedented volume of FOI

Dear Jessie Brown,

I refer to your request for access to documents under the Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (the Act) received by the  University on 18 July
2025.

Your request is receiving attention and a decision will be provided to you
as soon as possible..

Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing delays regarding your request
and we will be unable to provide you with a response by the current
decision date of 17 August 2025.

Delays are being experienced due to the document retrieval process as well
as absences of key FOI staff causing delays in the processing of your FOI
request. 

There also likely to be further delays due to the fact that the FOI Team’s
workload is currently at very high levels due the unprecedented volume of
FOI requests.

We are using our best endeavors to process all requests expeditiously
however there may be some slippage due to the current workload. We will
keep in touch with you and advise if there are any significant delays.

Accordingly, the University is seeking an extension of time of 30 days in
accordance with section 15AA of the FOI Act.   

If you agree to the extension, the University would be required to provide
you with a decision notice by no later than COB 16 September 2025.

Your earliest response would be appreciated as we are required to notify
the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) of any
extension agreed.
