A Queensland authority

The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority is established under the Education (Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority) Act 2014 (the Act), which replaced the Queensland Studies Authority (QSA) from 1 July 2014. The functions of the QCAA include: syllabuses for senior subjects; syllabuses for P-10 subjects for which there are no Australian curricula; developing and revising kindergarten guidelines; supporting schools and approved providers of education and care services in the implementation of syllabuses, Australian curriculum or kindergarten guidelines; developing and revising tests; moderation and certification; maintaining student accounts; tertiary entrance services; commercially exploiting products and services; and other functions to support the efficient and effective operation of the Authority. Membership of the QCAA comprises the Chief Executive, or a nominee of the Chief Executive and six members appointed by Governor in Council.
