3D models for City of Sydney
Dear City of Sydney,
I am aware there are 3D building models of Sydney which are used by the government [1] [2].

I would like to request the complete digital dataset for these be shared in their original format (e.g. .obj, .fbx, LiDaR scans, etc.)
Are there also other forms of this 3d model information? I would like to know and get access to these too please

I am very sorry for the delay in responding to your request.
The 3D massing model the City of Sydney uses is provided by the [1]AAM
Group under Licence.
Unfortunately the license doesn’t extend to making the data available to
third parties.
If you are interested in the model you might like to contact the AAM
Group.
Data that is freely available is accessible through the City’s Data Hub
[2]https://data.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/
The underlying map for the City we use and for most of the spatial
displays of data on the City of Sydney’s Data Hub is provided by Esri
software.
We also use it under licence.
Again I apologise for the delay in responding as we do aim to respond to
informal request for information within 10 days.
Applications for information made under the Government Information (Public
Access) Act 2009, do have processing time requirements and also provide
review rights. They also require a $30 application fee and a charges for
dealing with an application are set at $30 an hour.
