Good afternoon,
We refer to your request for access to documents under the Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (the Act) received by the University on 6 March 2025.
Your request, 202500031, is receiving attention and a decision will be
provided to you as soon as possible..
Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing delays regarding those
requests and we will be unable to provide you with a response by the
current decision date of 5 April 2025.
Delays are being experienced regarding the document search process, which
will have a knock on effect on the timeframe it takes us to process those
documents once received, which will ultimately cause delays in the
finalisation of your FOI request.
There also likely to be further delays due to the FOI team dealing with a
number of complex FOI requests with minimal staff.
Accordingly, the University is seeking an extension of time of 30 days in
accordance with section 15AA of the FOI Act.
If you agree to the extension, the University would be required to provide
you with a decision notice by no later than COB 5 May 2025.
Your earliest response would be appreciated as we are required to notify
the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) of any
extension agreed.
Yours sincerely,
FOI Team

Other Platforms: Any related discussions in Teams, Slack, or similar
internal systems.
If any documents fall within the scope but contain exempt material, I
request partial release with necessary redactions.
As a result of searches conducted, documentation has been identified as
relevant to your request. On review of the documentation, it has been
determined that some of the documents refer to the personal and/or
business information of a third party. Accordingly, the University is
required to consult with that third party (under sections 27 and/or 27A of
the FOI Act) before making a decision on the release of the documents.
The consultation mechanism under sections 27 and 27A applies when we
believe the third party concerned might reasonably wish to contend that
the requested documents are exempt because their release would disclose
the business or personal information of that third party.
Accordingly, the period for processing your request has been extended by a
further 30 days in order to allow our agency time to consult with those
third parties concerned.
The processing period for your request will now end on 5 May 2025.
Yours sincerely,
FOI Team
