Dear South Australia Police,

I am researching the "Snowtown Murders" for a journalistic project and would like to obtain copies of any records regarding the investigations of John Bunting, Robert Wagner, James Vlassakis and Mark Haydon, and any police interviews (with interview footage if available), beginning in November 1998.

In order to request SAPOL information, you are required to lodge an
application with the Freedom of Information Unit as per the process
outlined below:

 

1. a)  Complete the attached PD360 form and lodge it at a Police Station
with payment of $39.00; or

1. b)  Complete an online application at

payment of $39.00 – online payments can be made by credit/debit card.

2.       If you hold a current concession card or full time student ID,
you must attach a copy in order for the application fee to be waived.

4.       Attach one form of photo ID i.e. Drivers Licence or Passport.

5.       To the best of your knowledge, clearly state the documents you
are requesting including:

§  Type of incident

§  Document type/s

§  Time/date/location of incident

§  Name(s) of persons involved

§  Report number (if known)

6.       If you are requesting information in relation to the personal
affairs of someone else, or you're making the application on their behalf,
you must provide signed authority.

 

NB: Freedom of Information have 30 days to deal with applications although
in some cases where it will take more time you will be contacted about any
extra time required.
