National Disability Insurance Agency

Part of the Social Services portfolio and a Federal authority, also called NDIA

The role of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is to implement the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers.

⚠️ Important information before making your request ⚠️

The NDIA publishes a large amount of information without the need for an FOI request.

Before you make a request we recommend:

  • Searching Right to Know and the FOI Disclosure Log. A large number of documents (including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical research articles) are already accessible.
  • Checking the Operating Guidelines which explain how the NDIA makes decisions.
  • Reviewing the Data Research Portal if you're interested in public statistics about the performance of the NDIA.
  • Making sure the NDIA is the right authority to answer your request. For example, your request might be best answered by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission is the independent regulator of NDIS services. They are a separate agency that holds documents about NDIS providers and restrictive practices.

Most importantly: ⛔️Do not request personal information here. Why? ⛔️. Consider making a Participant Information Access Request instead.
