Attendance to MRIs in Hervey Bay 2022 to 2024

We're waiting for Cazz Packer to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Queensland Health,

I am seeking FOI about how many patients/people from outside of Hervey Bay 4655, use the 3 different private MRIs at the radiology departments at, I- Med St Stephens, Bayside Radiology and Fraser Coast Radiology please.

I am seeking this FOI of numbers to help advocate for an MRI in Maryborough as Maryborough only has 1 place I- Med St Stephens to have CT scan, xrays and ultra sounds, they are over booked.

If anyone outside of Hervey Bay gets injured badly and need an MRI and lives at Woocoo, Aldershot, Maryborough, Tinana, Tiaro etc have to be taken by ambulance to Maryborough Hospital then to Hervey Bay Hospital be triaged again, then put back into an ambulance to go to one of the private MRIs during working hours only.

I hope you can help with FOI of how many use the private MRIs that cost a small fortune most patients/ people don't have the MRI due to costs or travel to Nambour Hospital

Yours faithfully,
Carolyn Packer

Good morning Carolyn,

Thank you for your enquiry via the Right to Know portal.

If you are seeking access to information under the Right to Information
Act 2009 (the RTI Act), you must make an application directly to the
Agency, and it must also satisfy the following requirements:

•             Be on the approved form.

•             Be accompanied by the application fee.

•             Give sufficient information concerning the document to
enable an officer of the agency to identify it.

•             State whether or not the applicant is accessing the
documents to benefit another entity (the beneficiary) and, if they are,
identify the beneficiary.

•             Include evidence of ID, and if the applicant has an agent,
include evidence of the agent's ID and evidence of authority3, only if the
application is for the applicant's personal information.

•             State an address to which notices can be sent

The best way to submit an application under the RTI Act is via the
Queensland Government online portal, at [1]www.rti.qld.gov.au.  This
method will allow you to pay the mandatory application fee via credit card
when you submit the application.

If you are seeking information outside of formal RTI legislation, you may
make contact with Queensland Health at the following link:
[2]https://www.qld.gov.au/contact-us. However, you may be directed to
submit a formal RTI application.

I hope this information is of assistance.

Kind regards,

Travis
