Dear Mr Smith,

I refer to your request of 11 November 2019 in which you sought access under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act) to certain documents relating to the Australia Act 1986
The FOI Act does not apply to Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General unless a document sought is of an administrative nature (per Section 6A (1) of that Act). The High Court of Australia has ruled that documents of an administrative nature are those concerning the “management and administration of office resources”.

As your request relates to documents that are not administrative in nature your request is not a valid request under the FOI Act.
To assist, the Office does not hold any documents that are relevant to your request.

Yours sincerely,

Stephen Murtagh
Deputy Official Secretary to the Governor-General
