Build Commencement Dates for all FSAMs

jxeeno made this Freedom of Information request to NBN Co Limited

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear NBN Co Limited,

I wish to obtain a document containing the Build Commencement date for all FSAMs which are:
a) classified as Ready for Service
b) classified as Build Commenced

This is generally provided in the form of a month, rather than a precise date where the Build Contract Instructions were issued to NBN Co's delivery partners.

I note that this information is not commercially sensitive and is readily available for public viewing on the official NBN Co rollout map for FSAMs where build is currently under way.

Yours faithfully,
jxeeno

The following response was made to my personal email:

Please find attached an advance deposit request. In the interests of privacy, I have written to your personal email account, rather than the Right-To-Know (RTK) address, as this correspondence contains a request for an advance deposit payment. Please advise whether you would like to have NBN Co email the RTK account, rather than the [personal email].

Best regards, DJM

Dear David Mesman,

[N.B. this email has already been sent to David Mesman through private correspondence and is re-sent here for the purposes of keeping complete correspondence on the Right to Know website.]

Thanks for your response in regards to FOI1314/43. If you could kindly send future correspondence to both my personal email ([personal email]) and the Right to Know email. This ensures that appropriate correspondence can be viewed on the Right to Know website by the general public without the need of manual annotations.

I wish to enquire and contend flagged the decision making time and charge of 11 hours at $20.00 per hour. I understand that the data requested is not commercially sensitive information as a subset of the information is already made available on the NBN Co website through the NBN Co rollout map. So I find the charge imposed and the hours allocated to decision making is wrongly assessed.

I also note that I have made a request of a similar nature was made last year (FOI1213/30) which asked for the dates when a subset of FSAMs was marked as being "Ready for Service". The request was processed within the $100 waiver and did not require the same amount of decision making time.

Furthermore, will a reduction in the FOI request's scope reduce the decision making time necessary? In particular, a rescoping of the request will be:
A list of build commencement dates for FSAMs which are currently marked as Ready for Service.

The information requested now excludes areas where build is "in progress" and also asks for the list of dates rather than a document. As permitted in section 17 of the FOI Act, it would then be possible to create a new document containing the relevant information.

Yours sincerely,
jxeeno

Dear Adam,

Thanks for your reply. Will you also look into why 11 hours of decision making time is deemed necessary - as outlined by my first email (sent on February 14, 2014) and also my most recent email (sent on February 26, 2014)

Yours sincerely,
jxeeno
