Dear Mornington Peninsula Shire Council,

I would like to inquire if there is a limit to the number of people invited for each citizenship ceremony.

Also, I would like to know if I will be included on the July 19th, 2023 ceremony if my citizenship was approved on June 19, 2023.

Yours faithfully,

Kort Johnson

Good morning Kort

Thank you for your email regarding your citizenship ceremony.

Firstly, you are not on the list for the next ceremony on 19 July.

The number of people invited to a ceremony depends on the venue.  If the
ceremony is being held at Peninsula Community Theatre, 100 will be
invited.  If the ceremony is being held at The Studio @ PCT, which is a
smaller venue, then 80 will be invited.

I can’t say at this stage if you will be on the list for the 13 September
ceremony, but it is most likely.  We don’t receive a list from the
Department of Home Affairs until approx. 4 weeks before a ceremony.

You are most welcome to let me know your full name, address and phone no.
and I can ring you as soon as the list for the September ceremony is
received.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any more questions.

Kind regards

Subject: FW: Freedom of Information request - Citizenship Ceremony

Good morning Linda,

The email enquiry below is seeking information about Citizenship Ceremony.

The FOI Act gives any person the right to request access to “documents”.
Generally, you can’t request information that does not exist in an
existing document or answers to questions under the FOI Act.

We support information being provided informally and outside the FOI Act
(where possible) and as such, believe this should be treated as an enquiry
and not an FOI request.

Are you able to respond directly to the customer?

Many thanks

Jenny
