Dear Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads,

Otherwise, please consider this a request under the FOI Act.

Can you please provide all information relating to documents for "cloud seeding" throughout Queensland. Including all documents for air traffic reports, dates and times, contractors and expenses for these operations but not limited to. These are the white colored clouds seen early morning and late afternoon protruding from the rear of aeroplanes. These trails may be short or long across the skies. Please also include the administrative name for these procedures and the reasoning for, with a list of chemicals used and any effects this may have on weather and health to the people of this land throughout State of Queensland.

I ask that all fees in relation to this request be waived because the release of the documents is in the public interest.

Thank you for your email dated 11 November 2019, to the Department of Transport and Main Roads (the department).

I note you are seeking all documents held the department relating to “Cloud seeding” throughout Queensland, including all documents for air traffic reports, dates and times, contractors and expenses for these operations.

For your assistance, enquiries were made with the department’s Engineering and Technology Branch and also the department’s Environment, Cultural Heritage and Corridor Management team.

As a result, I have been advised that the department does not hold any records responsive to your request.

In this case, as the department does not hold the information you are seeking, you may wish to direct your enquiry to another agency.
