We refer to your request received by the Department of Climate Change,
Energy, the Environment and Water on 11 December 2025 for access to
documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) made in the
following terms:
‘Please provide all email communications both internally
and with external parties that contain the following word strings

**Response required – Request for s15AA extension of time **
The decision for this request is currently due on 12 January 2026. The
department does not operate during the Christmas/New year shut down period
(25 December 2025 to 1 January 2026 inclusive), as such, during this time
the department is not able to process FOI requests. In addition, in the
lead up to Christmas and until approximately mid-January, there will be
limited staff available to process FOI requests due to staff taking
recreational leave. The impact of the shutdown period and the limited
staff available during this time of year affect the department’s ability
to process this request within the statutory timeframe.
Accordingly, we would be grateful if you could provide the department with
an extension for processing this matter.
Could you please confirm via return email to [1][DCCEWW request email], your
agreement to a 14-day extension of time under s15AA of the FOI Act.
**Response required** - Removal of details under section 22 of the FOI Act
**
The department is working towards ensuring that all employees have a
choice about whether they provide their full name and direct contact
details in response to public enquiries. Where such details are included
in the scope of a request, this may add to processing time and applicable
charges as it may be necessary to consider whether the details are exempt
under the FOI Act.
On this basis, please confirm via return email to [2][DCCEWW request email]
agreeing to the removal of these details under section 22 of the FOI Act.
