Delivered

Dear Department of Parliamentary Services,

I write seeking access to a complete copy of the Register of Members' Interests database which stores the data displayed on http://www.aph.gov.au/Senators_and_Membe....

Please supply the data in an appropriate machine readable format, for example, SQL or CSV.

The data should include all tables and columns which make up the database.

Please initially treat this as a request for administrative access. If the request cannot be fulfilled under administrative access please treat this as a formal request under the Freedom of Information Act.

I also note the onus rests with the agency to prove why any information should not be released under the Act and I request the agency provide evidence in support of any assumptions or assertions used to justify non-disclosure.

Yours faithfully,

Benjamin

Department of Parliamentary Services

Dear Benjamin

The Register of Members’ Interests belongs to the House (as opposed to the
Department of the House of Representatives) and is not subject to the
Freedom of Information Act.

As the information you have requested is not Department of Parliamentary
Services (DPS) information, the [1]DPS Information Request Policy does not
apply.

However, DPS understands that all publicly available information relating
to Members’ interests is available through the register webpage, and it is
not stored elsewhere as a structured dataset.

Arrangements for the compilation, maintenance and accessibility of the
Register is the responsibility of the [2]Standing Committee of Privileges
and Members' Interests. You may contact the committee, through its
secretariat, using the contact details on this web page to request further
information from the committee.

Regards,
