After emailing the receipt, I received this email:

Dear SB Moreland,

Your application for access to information held by UNSW

I refer to your information access application under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (NSW) (‘the GIPA Act’) dated and received by the University on 5 August 2025.

It is a valid application and must be decided by 2 September 2025, unless the decision period is extended for consultation, to retrieve records from an archive, or by agreement. If your application is not decided by the end of the decision period, it is deemed to have been refused. If this occurs, you are entitled to seek a review of that refusal.

Under the GIPA Act, you have a right to request a review of certain decisions made by the University about the release of information. These rights are summarised in the attached leaflet.
