I seek access under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) to documents held by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. In particular, I request access to all documents, including emails, and its attachments, and its forwarding details sent to or from the email address Huyen.Do@ dfat.gov. au (remove space) ([email address]) during the period from 14 September 2025 to 31 October 2025 inclusive.

This request concerns documents sent to or from a DFAT email address in the course of official duties. As Huyen Do is a DFAT staff member acting in an official capacity on behalf of the department, this does not constitute a request for a private individual’s personal information, and consent is therefore not required.

The purpose of this email is to advise you that your request has been transferred to the Department of Home Affairs.

Under section 16(1) of the FOI Act, where the document is not in the possession of the department but is ... in the possession of another agency, the agency to which the request is made, may with the agreement of the other agency, transfer the request to the other agency or where the subject-matter of the document is more closely connected with the functions of another agency than with those of the agency to which the request was made, the agency to which the request is made, may with the agreement of the other agency, transfer the request to the other agency.
