Dear Freedom of Information Officer,

Thank you for your email and for the letter from the decision maker on behalf of the Assistant Treasurer.

In response to this letter, I object to the reasons outlined in the letter from the decision maker in relation to the grounds for a practical refusal.

The argument made by the decision maker that the request would 'substantially and unreasonably interfere with the performance of the Minister’s functions due to its broad scope'.

The timeframe is between 23rd May 2022 and the date of my request, 28th November 2022.

The documents are correspondence, and associate briefing materials, between the Assistant Treasurer and three entities.

I draw the decision maker's attention to the fact that the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner has provided guidance to all agencies and Ministers that 'it is implicit in the objectives of the FOI Act that agencies and ministers must ensure that appropriate resources are allocated to dealing with FOI matters.'

However, to assist the decision maker in processing this request I will alter the application to the following terms:

'Consistent with the Freedom of Information Act 1982, I request all correspondence by email or letter between the Assistant Treasurer and:

1) Industry Super Australia Pty Ltd; or

2) The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia Ltd.

The timeframe for this request is between 23rd May 2022 and 1st August 2022.

I am not seeking drafts of the above documents.'

Please advise when this revised application has been processed.

Yours sincerely,

Andorra Loom
