Dear Robin de Garis,

I refer to your request for access to documents as follows:

I would like all communications regarding the ABC Four Corners episode
"The Manus Solution", which aired April 28th, 2014.

I am writing to inform you that I have been appointed as the authorised
decision maker in this matter.

be able to finalise your FOI request by that date, I am seeking your
agreement (under s.15AA of the FOI Act) to extend the timeframe for the
processing of your request by 30 days.  This would extend the due date for
your request to 29 June 2014.

It would assist the Department in managing its FOI caseload if you could
provide a response to this request by close of business, Friday 23 May
2014.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you wish to discuss.

Yours sincerely

Dear Robin de Garis,

I refer to your FOI request for the following:

… all communications regarding the ABC Four Corners episode "The Manus
Solution", which aired April 28th, 2014.

I wish to advise that I have read through the correspondence/documents
provided by the relevant business areas relating to this request.

I note that as there were multiple business areas involved in this matter,
there is a significant amount of duplication of emails in various email
chains.

Would you be prepared to remove duplicate emails from the scope of your
request?

The next stage in the FOI process is to assess the documents for charges.
If you were to remove duplicates from the scope of your request, the
charges would be reduced.

Please let me know by COB Friday 30 May 2014, how you wish to proceed.

Regards,

Marianne

that we can contact the Finance area and they can issue a receipt. You
should also be aware that payments by direct credit are not processed in
