Freedom of Information Requests, Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation

Dear Mr Monceaux

Consultation - extension of time

I refer to your Freedom of Information request (as amended) for access to
the following documents:

Electronic copies of all correspondence between ANSTO and Rowan Ramsey MP
from the years 2014 to present (inclusive).

As your request covers a document which contains:

(a)    personal information

ANSTO is required to consult with the person or organisation concerned
(under section 27A of the FOI Act) before making a decision on the release
of that document.

For this reason the period for processing your request has been extended
by 30 days in order to allow ANSTO time to consult with that person or
organisation (section 15(6) of the FOI Act). The processing period for
your request will now end on 18 September 2017.

The consultation mechanism under section 27A applies when we believe the
individual (or their representative) may wish to contend that the
requested documents are exempt for reasons of personal privacy.

We will take into account any comments we receive from the person or
organisation but the final decision about whether to grant you access to
the documents you requested rests with ANSTO.

Redaction of ANSTO staff members names

ANSTO proposes to remove the names of junior staff but will keep in the
names of senior staff. If we do not hear from you we will assume you do
not object to this approach.

Kind regards

FOI Administration
