I would also like to request copies of presentations delivered by BCG to the Department executives / steering committees during their engagement. Finally I would like to request copies of IT security audits of the application if this has been done.

As this app is of significant public interest both from a public health and privacy perspective, I request that the FOI fees be waived.

Dear Mr Johnson,

I am writing to notify you that on 1 May 2020 the Department of Health
(department) received your request for access to documents under the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) as follows:

“request access to the final deliverables relating to the COVIDSafe app
developed by BCG Digital Ventures for the Department. Specifically I mean
deliverables produced by the consulting firm including design report,
technical documentation, and software architecture description.”

Request for extension of time

The department is actively processing your request and is aiming to
finalise it as quickly as possible. However, the department is currently
experiencing an increased workload to manage and respond to the
coronavirus pandemic, with a large amount of resources being diverted to
do so. The content of your request means that any documents that exist
would sit with the line area who has responsibility for the department’s
continued response to the coronavirus.

On this basis, the department is seeking an extension of 30 calendar days,
with a decision to be provided to you no later than COB 30 June 2020.

Next Steps

Could you please advise the department by COB Monday, 11 May 2020 if you
agree to the request for extension of time?

Kind regards

Casey

Dear Mr Johnson.

I refer to that part of your freedom of information request (FOI) below
seeking access to:

‘copies of IT security audits of the COVIDSafe application if this has
been done.’

I understand that the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) has received the
same FOI request from you and is processing it.

On the basis that DTA is processing an identical request and given that
the subject matter is more closely related to DTA’s functions, please
advise by COB Tuesday 12 May 2020 whether you agree to withdraw that part
of your FOI request made to the Department of Health.

If the department does not hear from you by then, we will consider your
request withdrawn.

Please contact the FOI Unit on (02) 6298 1666 or [1][email address] if
you have any questions.

Kind regards
