Current list of NSW Government agencies

Luke Bacon made this Government Information (Public Access) request to State Records Authority of New South Wales

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear State Records Authority of New South Wales,

I hope this finds you well. I'd like to request your most up to date list of all NSW government authorities, and if that general list doesn't exist, your most current list of contributing authorites.

Please treat this as an informal request if possible, otherwise as a formal GIPA request.

Yours faithfully,

Luke Bacon

Dear Luke

Apologies for the delay, I was out of the office last week.

The Department of Premier and Cabinet website (see
[1]http://www.dpc.nsw.gov.au/programs_and_s...) has details
of the NSW Government agencies, see specifically the link to Cluster
Arrangements for NSW government departments and agencies.  The NSW
Government Directory on the Service NSW website (see
[2]https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/nswgovdir...) also lists the details
of the NSW Government agencies.

I hope that this information is of assistance.

regards

Catherine

Hi Catherine,

Thanks for this information. Does NSW Recordkeeping have its own lists of NSW government bodies? or spreadsheets/databases that list government bodies and their function or record keeping projects etc. ?

Yours sincerely,

Luke Bacon

Dear Luke

In answer to your questions:

o State Records NSW maintains a collection database, which lists
information about current and former NSW Government bodies. It
includes information about the function of the NSW Government body.
It does not include recordkeeping projects.  The database is available
on our website (see
[1]https://www.records.nsw.gov.au/archives/...).

o State Records NSW also maintains a listing of NSW Government public
offices, for internal use, primarily for the purposes of administering
Parts 2 and 3 of the State Records Act 1998. I have attached a copy
for your information. It is a listing of government organisations
covered by the State Records Act at a point in time, which is updated
as required.  The listing does not identify the function of the
organisation nor their recordkeeping projects.

I am advised by our ‘Right to Know Officer’ that this request for
information is considered an informal release of information.  If you
require any further information not readily available on our website or
otherwise, you have the option to formally apply for access to that
information pursuant to the Government Information (Public Access) (GIPA)
Act 2009.  Information on how to obtain any further information is
available on State Records’ website here.

I hope that this information is of assistance.
