Dear South Australia Police,
I request any documents/statistics available for "Overtake when not safe to do so (including minimum distance for passing a cyclist)" ARR 140; as described by http://mylicence.sa.gov.au/road-rules/cy...

Specifically:
- Documents that describe aggregate number of offenses/fines issued between 2015-current, such as a periodic report
- Documents that describe the aggregate number of reports, complaints or statements regarding close passes, regardless of if it resulted in a fine/prosecution/etc from 2015-current, such as a perodic report
- Any internal guidance or training material to officers regarding the introduction of the law, and standards required for prosecution. For example, documents discussing cycling camera footage vs likelyhood of successful prosecution

All requests for access to SAPOL documents are made by completing a PD360 Application for Access to SAPOL Records form, available from the SA Police website:

www.police.sa.gov.au place the words “PD360” in the quick search box.

The form is also available at any police station within South Australia. The form must be submitted in person at a SA police station with primary identification ie drivers licence, current passport, birth certificate, citizenship or bank card.

Applications must include the application fee of $33.50 or proof that the applicant meets the fee waiver criteria (ie furnishing proof of health care, unemployment, pensioner or full time student). If you reside in another state or territory, the application form can be submitted via mail with the payment attached to:

Please make cheques/money orders payable to SAPOL or SA Police
Each application is forwarded to the Freedom of Information Unit for processing. The turnaround time under the FOI Act for applications is 30 days.
