Data on energy efficiency ratings of ACT properties

Joel Dignam made this Freedom of Information request to ACT Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Dear ACT Environment And Planning Directorate,

I'm writing to kindly request data on the energy efficiency ratings of ACT properties.

It's my understanding energy ratings have to be submitted to the ACT Government by energy assessors. I am keen to know the breakdown of energy efficiency ratings of ACT properties.

You could fulfill my request by providing overall data on the aggregate energy efficiency ratings of ACT properties, that is, how many properties have achieved what ratings.

If you do not have aggregate data, then I would be happy to receive raw data in the form of the energy efficiency ratings themselves.

I am particularly interested in how energy efficiency ratings intersect with tenure type, ie, tenanted vs. owner-occupied properties. I don't expect that you have this information as such, but if you do, please include it.

Yours faithfully,

Joel Dignam

EPSDFOI, ACT Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate

Good afternoon Mr Dignam,

I apologise for the delay in acknowledging your request. The Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate (EPSDD) has received an unusually large volume of requests and it has unfortunately impacted on administrative processes.

I have undertaken an assessment of your request and contacted those areas of EPSDD that are responsible for energy policy. I have been advised that the information you're seeking is most likely to be held by Access Canberra. Access Canberra may need to refine your request due to the way that records of EER are captured by the Territory.

I have transferred your request to Access Canberra who will commence processing from today and will be in touch with you directly in relation to proceeding with your request.

If there is anything further I can do to assist you please don't hesitate to contact me on 02 6207 5587.

Kind regards,

Ruth Fiona | Information Manager
