Data on notifications to the DAEN regarding adverse events to COVID19 vaccination where death was the reported outcome
Dear Therapeutic Goods Administration,
In the 'COVID19 weekly safety report 05-08-2021' the TAG makes the statement;
"The TGA reviews all deaths reported in people who have received the vaccination. We also monitor the database of reports for signals that may relate to vaccine safety to distinguish between coincidental events and possible side effects of the vaccine. So far, the observed number of deaths reported after vaccination remains less than the expected number of deaths that would occur naturally, or from other causes, for that proportion of the population.
Since the beginning of the vaccine rollout to 1 August 2021, over 12.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been given. The TGA has found that 7 reports of deaths were likely to be linked to immunisation from 425 reports received and reviewed."
Can I please request the following data pertaining to the stated 425 reports received;
1. Age and sex of the patient for each report (this data alone cannot be used to identify patients)
2. The source of each report ie whether the report was made by a practitioner or member of the public.
