Date of the letter advising of a fund wind-up for One of NAB's Staff Super funds

Phillip Sweeney made this Freedom of Information request to Australian Prudential Regulation Authority

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was refused by Australian Prudential Regulation Authority.

Phillip Sweeney

Dear Australian Prudential Regulation Authority,

I refer to the spreadsheet published by APRA titled "Annual Fund-Level superannuation Statistics Back Series June 2019"

For the year ended 30 June 2016 the status of the National Australia Bank Group Superannuation Fund A was recorded as "For profit status".

The trustee was recorded as "PFS Nominees Pty Ltd".

Ownership was recorded as "Financial Services corporation ownership"

Governance type was recorded as "Non-equal representation"

Member Benefits were recorded as $4.275 billion.

For the year ending 30 June 2017 there is no record of the National Australia Bank Group Superannuation Fund A.

A record appears for the MLC Super Fund {not to be confused with the MLC Superannuation Fund} and the trustee is recorded as NULIS Nominees (Australia) Ltd.

Member Benefits were recorded as $75.775 billion

The document I seek is a document that would confirm the date of the letter (or other correspondence) advising APRA that the deregistration date (or "wind-up date") of the National Australia Bank Group Superannuation Fund A should be recorded by APRA as 1 July 2016.

If necessary, part of this document can be redacted if necessary.

Yours faithfully,

Phillip Sweeney

Phillip Sweeney

Dear Australian Prudential Regulation Authority,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Australian Prudential Regulation Authority's handling of my FOI request 'Date of the letter advising of a fund wind-up for One of NAB's Staff Super funds'.

APRA, in published documents, records that the purported wind-up date of National Australia Bank Superannuation Fund A is 1 July 2016.

The FOI request was for a copy of a document that would confirm the date that APRA was advised that this particular regulated superannuation fund was purportedly wound-up.

Parts of this document, other than the date, could be redacted if necessary.

There is no justification for denying access to a document that would reveal the date that APRA was advised of the purported wind-up date.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.righttoknow.org.au/request/d...

Yours faithfully,

Phillip Sweeney
