Timeframe

The statutory timeframe to provide you with a decision on your request
ends on 17 September 2023. This period may be extended if we need to
consult with third parties, or for other reasons. We will advise you if
this happens.

 

Please note that where the due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public
holiday, the timeframe will expire on the next working day. This is in
accordance with the FOI Guidelines issued by the Office of the Australian
Information Commissioner under section 93A of the FOI Act.

Good afternoon MBV,

 

I am writing in relation to your FOI request 151/23/24 in which you have
sought access to:

 

I request all documents, including records of meetings, text messages,
signal messages, emails or records of calls relating to the processing of
Defence FOI 743/22/23.

 

Our office is seeking your agreement to a 14 day extension of the
statutory deadline under section 15AA [extension with agreement] of the
FOI Act, due to the processing demands associated with your request.
Defence has identified a considerable number of documents totaling over
150 pages that are in scope of your request, and we are currently
preparing the decision on access. 

 

The current statutory deadline for you to receive a response to your
Defence FOI request is 17 September 2023, however should you agree, the
statutory deadline for you to receive a response to your request will
expire on 1 October 2023. We will endeavour to process your request as
soon as we can.

 

It would be much appreciated if you could confirm your agreement to this
extension of time via e-mail by close of business 5:00pm Wednesday 13
September 2023.
