Does both parties need to pay for a divorce?
Dear Federal Circuit Court of Australia,
I am filling my divorce soon as a single applicant under a concession card which allows me for a lower fee. My question is, does the other party still need to pay from their end when I serve them the papers?
As far as I could find out, I have to fill in the papers and serve it to the other party, get them to sign it and then I upload the documents to the portal. Does the other party need to get a lawyer involved in this case? We are separating on amicable terms and there will be no contest for property or children custody etc. When the divorce is straightforward, and when there is no need for a lawyer to get involved, is there a cost for only one party which is me, who will be lodging the application?
