FOI, Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications

Dear Mr Gothe-Snape

Thank you for your email.

To assist the Department in undertaking searches and identifying documents I am seeking further information from you about the scope of your request.

This Department is responsible for functions which relate to land transport, transport safety, infrastructure planning and coordination, civil aviation and airports, maritime transport, major projects, regional programmes and development, regional policy and local government. As such, IT searches using the original terms of your request could identify many documents from all areas of the Department relating to any of the above subject matters.

To assist in identifying only those subject matter documents which you are seeking, and in reducing any potential charges which may be imposed, I would be grateful if you could provide additional information about the emails you are seeking access to, such as a specific project or subject matter.

In accordance with subsection 15(2)(b) of the FOI Act an applicant is required to "provide such information concerning the document as is reasonably necessary to enable a responsible officer of the agency, or the minister, to identify it". Accordingly, your request is currently considered invalid as it does not provide sufficient information in order to properly identify the document/s you are seeking access to. Once you have provided information which will assist in the identification of documents the processing clock for your request will commence.

Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the processing of your request. I can be reached by telephone on (02) 6274 6495 (or through the Department’s switchboard number on 1800 075 001) or by email at [email address].
