We're waiting for Sean to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Australian Federal Police,

I am writing to you to request the release of the following search results rather than the documents themselves. I am seeking the search results providing a list of file names for any file generated or created from jan 01 2023 - jan 01 2024 with the below file extensions:
- .psd
- .ai
- .ndd
- .psb
- .afdesign
- .afphoto
- .xcf

I understand that I cannot request the creation of a new document, so I simply cannot ask you to make me a list of all files however I should be able to request that you undertake the search and provide me the list of results. Please note that I am specifically doing this so I can filter for files pertaining to "seizure images" that the AFP created or edited, Having these file names will allow me to narrow my scope for future requests and in turn prevent me from raising a similar request like LEX 3498 for every single publicly known operation that the AFP was involved in. I say that not to be rude, but just to explain why.

I understand these request may be broad and i will narrow them down in future if possible. I would like to also state that I wish for this information and give my permission to have identifiable information removed from it. Such as the identifiable names of officers, middle names, phone numbers, etc.

Yours faithfully,

Sean

Dear FOI,
Thank you for clarifying that my request is not valid in terms of the act. I Belive that you are also required to assist me in crafting a valid request under the act. Given my previous requests, it should be clear what my aim is in requests. Most of them have been denied due to being too broad or not valid. I know that when government agencies seize websites they sometimes put a splash screen or a banner on it stating it has been confiscated, I know that the AFP's logo has been on some splash screens with joint international operations, I know that someone has to have approved the placement or design or designed the image itself.

I wish to aimply get those images. As I said it is my belief that you are required to assist me in crafting a vlaid request, in that case as you now know what my end goal is, please assist me.

Yours sincerely,

Sean

Dear Sean

My apologies for the delayed response.

In response to your email if it is simply the AFP logo displayed on seized
websites that you are seeking to obtain, I would suggest you submit a new
FOI request specifying that is what you are seeking access to.

I would suggest you include a scope along the lines of this:

'In relation to the AFP's seizure of websites, I am seeking access to any
document, that includes a recent example of the AFP logo, also known as a
splash screen or banner that is applied during a website seizure, that
states that the site has been confiscated'

Please submit a new FOI request seeking access as above through the AFP
[1]webform.

Kind regards,
