Dear Mr Fairless

I refer to your email of 2 November 2016 9:02 PM in which you request
access to FOI delegations of the Australian Electoral Commission (‘AEC’).

The AEC does not share your view that the authorisations (not delegations)
made under section 26 of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 fall within
the scope of operational information as defined by section 8A of that Act.

However, the AEC has no objection to giving you administrative access to
an edited copy of the current authorisation which was made on 6 October
2016 from which the signature of Mr Rogers, the Electoral Commissioner has
been redacted.

There are no related instructions about the management of freedom of
information requests.

Regards

Owen Jones

Dear Owen,

Thanks for the reply. Whilst we will disagree on if it's IPS material, you've released it which is great.

Thanks for your time, have a good weekend!

Yours sincerely,
