Nigel Gladstone

Dear Local Council,

Can you please provide me with the number of food safety inspections carried out in your area annually, for the last three years?

How many warning were issued each year and how many fines each year?

What percentage of all food outlets did the council inspect each year?

Have any outlets been shut down for non-compliance and if so what for and how many?

What were the worst offences/biggest fines for each year?

Yours faithfully,

Nigel Gladstone

Dear Janine Disbery,

Other NSW Councils including Mosman, Orange and others do not require a $30 fee for this information, is there a reason your council is different?

Yours sincerely,

Nigel Gladstone

Dear Pina Viney,

This request is very simple as all the information I am asking for is contained in an annual report all councils provide to the NSW food Authority. The food authority send an email form each year and it is emailed back to them. Lane Cove council had it in their document management system but if you do not you can request it from the food authority and they will email it back to you.

The Food authority will not release the forms as it is third party information so I have to request it from all councils individually. I have already received this information from more than a dozen councils without the need for a GIPA or any paper work as it is an informal request.

Yours sincerely,

Nigel Gladstone

Dear Mr Gladstone

I refer to your application under the Government Information (Public
Access) Act 2009 (“GIPA Act”) received by Council on 28 October 2016,
which has been referred to me as Council’s Public Officer.

I have considered the information and concur with the response provided to
you by the Governance Coordinator.  I am of the opinion that the

Accordingly, your application is a Formal GIPA application, which requires
payment of a $30.00 application fee for determination.  You have 20
working days from the date of this email to apply for an internal review,

Nigel Gladstone

Dear Michelle,

I am not paying $30 for this information and your council is the only one I have had this demand from.

This request is very simple as all the information I am asking for is contained in an annual report all councils provide to the NSW food Authority. The food authority send an email form each year and it is emailed back to them. Lane Cove council had it in their document management system but if you do not you can request it from the food authority and they will email it back to you. It was 10 minutes work for Lane Cove and that included asking the food authority for one year they did not habve in their system.

The Food authority will not release the forms as it is third party information so I have to request it from all councils individually. I have already received this information from several councils without the need for a GIPA or any paperwork as it is an informal request.

I hope you can come to the same conclusion more than 30 other councils have already reached, and release this public information for free.

If you decide against this can you please tell me how much time you assessed this request to take?

Yours sincerely,

Nigel Gladstone
