Hobart RWY 30 Flight Path RNP-AR - Environmental Impact Assessment DIPWE

Dear Tasmanian Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment,

Re: Hobart RWY 30 Flight Path RNP-AR - Environmental Impact Assessment

Could I please obtain a copy of the Airservices Australia (ASA) referral and Environmental Impact Assessment (as laid out in the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) undertaken in the Primrose Sands TAS area in particular Carlton Bluff.
As no flights existed over Primrose Sands pre flight changes of 2017, this would have been a mandatory requirement as it triggered ASA's own referral thresholds for locations newly overflown.

Yours faithfully,

Cathy Minnucci

Right2 Info,

Hi Cathy

My name is Heather Neate, and I am the Program Manager for Right to Information (RTI) at both the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (previously known as the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment) and also at the Environment Protection Authority Tasmania (EPA).

For your information, an RTI application has to be lodged on one of our standard forms, and a fee is usually applicable.

However, when we received your email, we first checked with both of the agencies we oversee to discuss your potential application.

I can advise that neither the Department nor the EPA played any role in the flight path assessment, and that therefore there would be no purpose in proceeding to a formal application.

I can only suggest that you lodge a Freedom of Information (FOI) application with the relevant Federal Authorities instead.

Kind regards

Heather Neate

Dear Right2 Info,
Thank you, Heather.

I did go through FOI with CASA and ASA, but they suggested I contact your area.

I will take your reply to imply that no report was provided by DPIPWE or EPA to any government body when Airservices Australia (ASA) undertook their flight path design and changes at Hobart Airport.

If this understanding is not correct, please just reply otherwise.

Thank you very much for your help on this matter.

Yours sincerely,

Cathy Minnucci

Right2 Info,

Hi again Cathy

All I can advise is that neither State agency had any involvement - either providing or receiving/assessing such a report.

Perhaps you could try the Federal Department of either Environment or Transport?

Sorry we could not be of more assistance.

Heather
