Dear NSW Department of Education,

I am selecting Hurlstone Agricultural High School as one of the options for my son’s Selective school (change of school choices) application for 2020.

I am a bit confused with the information available on various NSW government websites on the relocation of this school.

The NSW school infrastructure website states this:

A project is underway to move Hurlstone Agricultural High School (located in Glenfield) to a new location within Western Sydney University - Hawkesbury campus.

It also states the following on another page of the same site:

"An upgrade is underway to create a selective high school in Glenfield. This will be achieved through the upgrade and improvement of the existing school facilities and amenities at the site of the current Hurlstone Agricultural High School (which is subject to relocation as part of another capital works project)."

The education Nsw website with list of selective schools states this:

"The future fully selective Roy Watts High School at Glenfield will not be available for entry in 2020 but will remain as Hurlstone Agricultural High School until the opening is announced."

And we have news reports from the Sydney morning herald as well which state that the Hurlstone selective school is relocating.

My question is, if my son gets admission to the Hurlstone Agri school for 2020 does it mean he will be forced to move to Hawkesbury to continue his selective schooling when the Agri school is relocated to Hawkesbury? Or will he be continuing his selective schooling at the new Ray Watts school in Glenfield in the upgraded facilities?

Yours faithfully,

Girish Bangalore
