Dear Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads,

I require registration details of all caravans currently registered in QLD.

Requires fields are vin, builder/manufacturer, model, year of manufacture, date of compliance, suburb.

I believe a similar FOI covering motorhomes has already been produced.

Yours faithfully,

Ken Mitchell

Dear Mr Mitchell

Thank you for your enquiry to the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (department), requesting access to the registration details of caravans currently registered in Queensland.

You can apply for access to documents/information held by the department by making an application under the Right to Information legislation in Queensland, the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) (the RTI Act).

Right to Information

If you would like to make an application, you can apply and pay online at https://www.smartservice.qld.gov.au/serv...

The application fee is $50.80.

Whilst the RTI Act is intended to provide a right of access to information held by government, this right of access is subject to the grounds for refusal which include public interest considerations. What this means is that whilst the department meets the object of the RTI Act and provides access to information/documents wherever possible, it does not guarantee access to all or any parts of the relevant documents. In situations where the proposed release of the requested documents would be considered to be of concern to another person or entity, consultation with that person would be required under the RTI Act.

Where an application will take more than five hours to finalise, processing charges are applicable at the current rate of $7.85 per 15 minutes. Please note that the department will correspond with you with an estimate of any applicable charges before finalising your application.

Further general information about Right to Information is available on the department's website http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/About-us/Right... or on the Queensland government website http://www.qld.gov.au/about/rights-accou....
