Dear Colleagues

Thank you for your below email requesting a list of Queensland State
schools in the Metropolitan region and the number of independent
contractors currently engaged at each of these schools that provide
support services such as coaching or tutoring.

This request has been considered under the Department’s ‘Administrative
Access Scheme for Central Office and Regional Offices’.

I am advised the Department does not hold this information in order to
provide a list of the Queensland State schools in the Metropolitan region
who engage contractors to provide support services. This information is
not collected centrally or in the Metropolitan region.  However, the
Department can provide a list of all transactions undertaken by each
school in the Metropolitan region filtered to the GL code for contractors
engaged by the 258 schools in the region.  In order to identify the number
of contractors that provide coaching or tutoring services, each
transaction will need to be reviewed and confirmation sought from each
school to identify the requested information. Taking into account the
number of schools in Metropolitan region, the provision of the requested
information would take a considerable amount of time to complete.

In order to obtain this information you will need to lodge a formal
application under the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld).  In light of
the above, I note that if the requested information is sought under a
formal application, the Department will consider whether the processing of
the application would require significant resources and considerable time
to complete and therefore may refuse to deal with the application under
the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld).

For further information regarding the right to information framework
including lodging a formal application under the Right to Information Act
2009 (Qld), I refer you to the online RTI portal -

Kind regards,

COLE, Caroline, Queensland Department of Education

Good afternoon,

I am advised that the specific information you have requested is unable to be generated into a list without requiring manual cross-checking with each individual school. You may therefore wish to contact individual schools to request this information.

Alternatively, you can lodge a formal application under the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld). However given the number of Queensland schools, the Department will consider whether the processing of a formal application would require significant resources and considerable time to complete, and therefore may refuse to deal with the application.

For further information regarding the right to information framework including lodging an application under the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld), I refer you to the online RTI portal available at: https://www.rti.qld.gov.au/
