Dear Dave,

Thank you for your email query.

I am not sure what specific sections of the City Of Brisbane Act 2010 you are referring to here is a link to the current version that may assist in advising me of the section:
https://www.legislation.qld.gov.au/view/...

If you are after information about the land area of the Brisbane City Council Local Government Area, one resource would be the Council's Annual Report https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/about-co... . Page 9 says that the total land area is 1342.7 square kms.

Local Government Boundary maps for the entire Council area, as well as the 26 individual wards, are publicly available at:
https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/about-co... - click on the Ward maps option. Then select the "Select a council district" tab and from the drop down menu select "Brisbane". You can then zoom in our out to work out the exact boundaries for the entire Brisbane area. If you would like the boundary for a particular ward, for example Bracken Ridge, select "Brisbane Bracken Ridge" from the drop down menu.

To print one of these maps, select the "View PDF" button towards the top of screen. This will give you a pdf map that you can print or save to your computer.

David Simons

Dear BrisbaneRTI,

Appreciate the prompt response.

Let me clarify the question:
[1] The jurisdiction of Brisbane.

This request is not related to council jurisdiction or the City of Brisbane, instead Brisbane as a land area.

Note this request has been referred from Queensland Department of Premier and Cabinet for the decision making.

Yours sincerely,

Dave

BrisbaneRTI, Brisbane City Council

Dear Dave,

Are you able to provide me with any more contextual information as to the best of my knowledge, "Brisbane" has only two areas:
(1) the suburb of Brisbane City, the boundaries of which can be found in a UBD/refidex and is essentially the inner city Central Business District; and more broadly -
(2) the local government area falling under the jurisdiction of the Brisbane City Council, which is covered by the maps and information I referred you to last week.

The State Government may have regions such as Brisbane North etc for the purposes of providing their services eg Health or Education, but they are not regions that Council can provide you with assistance on in terms of their definition, scope and jurisdiction as such regions are not utilised by Brisbane City Council.

"Brisbane", as far as Council is concerned, as a land area is the area making up the City of Brisbane, and falling under the jurisdiction of the Brisbane City Council.

David Simons
