Lost RIng

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Sydney Trains should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Sydney Trains,I lost a thin gold ring with a flower made of stones on it on the 24th of July, 2023 at 10:33 am. I was on the T8 line, heading to Macarthur and was on the train, first carriage seated on the 3rd seat to the left ( in the two people seats) when this occurred. The ring hasn't been found yet and was very valuable to me. If you could, could you check CCTV footage to see where it went?

Yours faithfully,

Ishika Zaman

Dear Ishika,

Thank you for contacting the Information Access Unit, Transport for NSW (TfNSW).

This Unit is responsible for managing requests for access to information under the Government Information (Public Access) Act (GIPA).

You may request access to CCTV informally to TfNSW by: https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/system/....

Sydney Trains retains CCTV for a maximum of 14 days, after which it may no longer be available.

Once the request for CCTV is located, you will be contacted by email and requested to apply for the information formally under GIPA.

Upon receipt of your application, agencies are required to decide an application within 20 working days (subject to any suspension or extension required).

Information regarding the application process and fees can be found on our website at the following link+ADs- https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/about-u...
- online application https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/about-u....

Generally, access to CCTV footage (if held) is only provided by enabling a person to view the footage.

Please note that an application will not guarantee access to the requested information.

I hope this information is of assistance.
