Dear Department of the Environment,
Could you please provide me with all the water quality data for the
McArthur River (NT), for the period of January 2010 to February 2016. Could you please provide the data in a spreadsheet format like CSV.
If this data is already available in a format like this, I'd really
appreciate a link to it. Please treat this as an informal request if possible, but otherwise as a formal FOI request.

Hi Luke
The Department of the Environment undertook a search for water quality
data for the McArthur River (NT), for the period of January 2010 to
February 2016. We do not hold the information you requested. The
conditions of approval for the McArthur River Mine (EPBC 2003/954) do not
require the submission of water quality monitoring data to the
Department. The approval holder is required to submit an annual report to
the Department, however this need only be a report into compliance with
the conditions of approval – not a detailed submission of monitoring data.
We also contacted the Commonwealth Department of Agriculture and Water
Resources who also undertook a search for the requested information. They
advised they don’t hold any data on water quality in the McArthur River
and this is a matter for the NT Government.
We contacted the NT Environment Protection Authority and the NT Land and
Environment - both advised they do not have information on the water
quality for the McArthur River (NT).
I am sorry that we are unable to assist you on this occasion. I suggest
that you contact the NT Department of Land Resource Management in case
they hold the information you are seeking.
